The Electric Prunes are a rock band who first achieved international attention as an experimental psychedelic group in the late 1960s, and contributed two tracks to the soundtrack of Easy Rider. After a period in which they had little control over their music, they disappeared for thirty years, reforming as a recording and touring band in 2001.

In Early 1972, Brian Fronted his first band called Buffalo, then becoming USA, and finally Geordi. Geordie remained a popular rock act in the U.K. throughout the early 1970's. Brian also recorded a single with solo material right after leaving Geordie in 1975, and then rejoined Geordie again in 1979 for a brief stint. Since he's been with AC/DC, he has done a guest appearance on another single,-in 1983-Geordie Aid(for a benefit), and has Guested on hard rock bands JACKYL "locked and loaded" and has made some live guest appearances with Jackyl and Neurotica (whom he's produced).

TITO & TARANTULA - Andalucia (2002)
Andalucia is the fourth and most recent studio album by Los Angeles rock band Tito & Tarantula, released in 2002. The album marked several line-up changes in the band, which had previously consisted of lead singer/rhythm guitarist Tito Larriva, lead guitarist Peter Atanasoff, and drummer Johnny "Vatos" Hernandez. This album featured the debut of lead guitarist Steven Hufsteter - who had previously played with Larriva in the Cruzados, bassist Io Perry, and keyboardist Marcus Praed.

If you've ever pondered the identity of Lucinda Williams' "Drunken Angel," wondered who made even Townes Van Zandt feel blue, or what songwriter Merle Haggard would turn to in a moment of spiritual crisis, the answer is simple: Blaze Foley - all of the above.
Foley, a disparate voice even in the iconoclastic circles of Austin, wasn't much known outside of the handful of artists who remember him in their songs and deeds. But before his murder in 1989 at 39, Foley was embraced in Austin for a heart as large as his frame, a soul as deep as his voice and for a self-fulfilling poverty that led him to be remembered as much for his duct-taped shoes as his songs. It's no surprise that Foley died in another losing battle: gunned down while trying to protect an elderly friend's government pension checks.
Thanks to Lost Arts Records' release,"Live at the Austin Outhouse," the world can now hear the gift of this songwriter's soul. The first published recordings of Blaze Foley, taped just four weeks before his death, it captures the simplicity and honesty and of Foley's artistry. From the achingly simple "If I Could Fly" (which Haggard performed for Tammy Wynette's memorial service), to the haunting loneliness of "Picture Cards Can't Picture You," the 12 cuts on this CD capture the forsaken beauty of Foley's music - warts and all - as Foley would only want it. Performed with a "borrowed guitar" and recorded before an audience so sparse one can hear every aside, here's thanking Lost Art Records for finally allowing that audience to swell.

PETER GREEN - The Anthology (2008)
Peter Green is a British blues-rock guitarist and founder of the band Fleetwood Mac. A figurehead in the British blues movement, Green inspired B. B. King to say, "He has the sweetest tone I ever heard; he was the only one who gave me the cold sweats." Apart from his solo work in the late 1970s and early 1980s, he contributed to "Rattlesnake Shake" and "Super Brains" on Mick Fleetwood's solo album, The Visitor, and recorded various sessions with a number of other musicians. Despite some attempts by Gibson at a German trade show to start talks about producing a Peter Green signature Les Paul, Peter's instrument of choice at this time was in fact a Gibson 'Howard Roberts' Fusion, very often seen accompanying him on stage in recent years. A 1990s comeback saw Green form the Peter Green Splinter Group, with the assistance of fellow musicians including Nigel Watson and Cozy Powell. The Splinter Group released nine albums between 1997 and 2004. It was in the latter part of this period that he picked up a black Gibson Les Paul again. Green signed and sold this Les Paul, which had been tweaked for Peter to sound like the famous 'green burst' and is now owned by a UK enthusiast. A tour was cancelled and recording of a new studio album stopped in early 2004, when Green left the band and moved to Sweden. Shortly thereafter he joined The British Blues All Stars, but their tour in 2005 was also cancelled. Green has said that the medication he takes to treat his psychological problems makes it hard for him to concentrate and saps his desire to pick up a guitar; whether there will be any more public ventures remains to be seen.
Peter Green - The Anthology is an exciting 4CD retrospective - set for UK release 27 October, 2008 - telling the story of a British guitar legend and blues institution. The set contains essential Peter Green music drawn from all stages of his career.

When John Peel was alive, he was more than a radio presenter. He championed music, music that wasn't fashionable or current. You could say he was interested in all kinds of music and probably felt that different music could appeal to different people. In memory of John Peel, who died October 25, 2004, here are two early Pink Floyd shows presented by Peel.
On July 16, 1970, Pink Floyd performed at the Paris Cinema in London. As stated in the liner notes to The Floyd's Of London, " Peel, at the time, was something of a maverick. Bucking the Top-40 format, he was more interested in promoting almost anything that was not in the mainstream, and had been a huge admirer of the Pink Floyd."

After performing in a variety of bands since the late '60s, Bolin finally released his first solo album in 1975. "Teaser" is an impressive display of the guitarist's prowess & range, & is a natural progression from the previous Bolin-dominated James Gang albums Bang & Miami & his work with drummer Billy Cobham. The album features heavy doses of jazz-rock fusion (furthered by guests Jan Hammer, Dave Sanborn, & Michael Walden) in the instrumentals 'Homeward Strut' & 'Marching Powder', & straight-ahead rock in tracks like 'The Grind'. Bolin was always equally adept at subtleties, & the ballad 'Dreamer' & the exotic 'Savannah Woman' (with percussion from Phil Collins) represent this stylistic range here. Overshadowed historically by his guitar dynamics, Bolin's understated yet strong vocals are another selling point. Apart from sporadic live appearances (mostly in Europe), little was heard from U.K. Sabbath worshipers, Budgie, since their last studio album, 1982's Deliver Us from Evil. But as any well-versed metalhead knows by now, the group received a major profile boost when Metallica covered a few of their songs over the years. Suddenly, a whole new generation of headbangers took notice. While it would have made more sense for the group to have issued a follow-up to Evil during the late '80s (when Metallica was going "Budgie cover happy"), 2006 finally saw the release of an all-new Budgie studio set, You're All Living in Cuckooland. Singer/bassist Burke Shelley is the lone original bandmember left in attendance by this point, and while his unmistakable singing style and the group's trademark mega-heavy riffs remain, rather odd production techniques abound. It's as if the group attempted to updated their sound for the times, but the "times" that it reflects are the late '80s, especially on such tracks as the album-opening "Justice" and "Dead Men Don't Talk." However, there are some classic Budgie moments, such as the quiet-loud-quiet "Tell Me Tell Me," which harkens back to such early Budgie gems as "Everything in My Heart" and "Rolling Home Again." Despite the detectable Van Halen/Iron Maiden-esque sounds, You're All Living in Cuckooland is worthy of any longtime Budgie fan's time.

Delaney Bramlett dies in LA at 69

LOS ANGELES: Singer-songwriter-producer Delaney Bramlett, who penned such classic rock songs as "Let it Rain" and worked with musicians George Harrison and Eric Clapton, has died. He was 69.
Bramlett died Saturday shortly before 5 a.m. at UCLA Ronald Reagan Medical Center in Los Angeles as a result of complications from gallbladder surgery, his wife Susan Lanier-Bramlett said.
Born in Mississippi, Bramlett enjoyed a career in the music business that spanned 50 years. With his then-wife Bonnie Lynn, he created the Southern blues-rock band Delaney & Bonnie & Friends. The group opened for Blind Faith, which featured British guitarist Clapton, in 1969.
He is perhaps best known for standards such as "Superstar," co-written with Leon Russell, which was recorded by Usher, Luther Vandross, Bette Midler, The Carpenters and most recently, Sonic Youth, in a version featured on the Grammy-nominated soundtrack of the movie "Juno."
He co-wrote "Let it Rain" with Clapton, who also recorded it, and "Never Ending Song of Love," which was recorded by more than 100 artists including Ray Charles, George Jones, Tammy Wynette, Patty Loveless and Dwight Yoakam.
He recently released an album, "A New Kind of Blues," on independent label Magnolia Gold Records.
