Strunz & Farah
is a guitar duo with an eclectic sound that could be described as a cross between world fusion and flamenco.
Jorge Strunz, born in Costa Rica, and Ardeshir Farah, hailing from Iran, met in the United States in 1979. Having both played guitar professionally since their early teens, they soon teamed up and released their self-produced first album Mosaico in 1980, which started their own label, Selva Records. Soon they caught the attention of Richard Bock, an important figure in jazz radio, who helped the duo land a contract with jazz label Milestone.
Since then Strunz & Farah have played on numerous recordings together, releasing several albums as a duo and collaborating with the likes of Rubén Blades and L. Subramaniam. Jorge Strunz was once recommended by friend Paco de Lucía as a replacement for Al Di Meola in The Guitar Trio.
The duo also worked with Sting on the album The Living Sea: Soundtrack from the IMAX Film as session musicians.

Alexi Laiho właściwie Markku Uula Aleksi Laiho pseud. Wildchild lub Allu
(ur. w 1979 r. w Espoo), to fiński muzyk, kompozytor, wokalista i instrumentalista, gitarzysta. Laiho znany jest z występów w grupach Sinergy oraz Children of Bodom.
Będąc dzieckiem uczył się grać na skrzypcach i pianinie.
Po otrzymaniu prezentu od ojca jakim była gitara (Tokai Stratocaster), Laiho rozpoczął naukę "Pop&Jazz Konservatorio".
W wieku 16 lat Laiho rzucił szkołę, aby całkowicie oddać się grze na gitarze.
Jego pierwszym zespołem był T.O.L.K., który założył z kolegami ze szkoły, nie istniał on jednak długo. W 1993 roku Laiho założył deathmetalowy zespół o nazwie Inearthed, wraz z przyjacielem Jaska Raatikainenem. Cztery lata później Alexi przyłączył się do grupy Thy Serpent. Po wydaniu płyty "Something Wild" Laiho odłączył się od niej, a całą swoją uwagę skupił na Children of Bodom. Używa gitar firmy ESP.

Zakk Wylde, właściwie Jeffrey Phillip Wiedlandt, (ur. w 1967r. w Bayonne) amerykański gitarzysta i wokalista zespołu Black Label Society. Jak opisuje w jednym z wywiadów ma irlandzko-niemiecko-holenderskie korzenie.
Dorastał w miejscowości Bayonne w stanie New Jersey w USA. 20 maja 1987 roku, po udanym przesłuchaniu, Zakk Wylde dołączył do zespołu Ozzy'ego Osbourne'a, byłego wokalisty Black Sabbath. W 1990 zespół nagrał płytę No More Tears, uchodzącą za klasyk wśród muzyki heavymetalowej. Kolejny album, wydany w 1993 roku, zatytułowany Live and Loud, potwierdził kunszt gitarowy Zakka Wylde'a.
W tym samym roku Ozzy Osbourne ogłosił zakończenie swojej kariery. Zakk Wylde zdecydował się na założenie własnego zespołu Pride and Glory. W 1994 został wydany album Pride and Glory. Rok później Ozzy Osbourne powrócił na scenę, a Zakk Wylde ponownie dołączył do jego zespołu.
W 1998 roku Zakk założył własny zespół Black Label Society, w którym gra równolegle z zespołem Ozzy'ego Osbourne'a.
Zakk ma żonę, Barbaranne Marie, i trójkę dzieci: synów Jesse'a i Hendriksa oraz córkę Hayley-Rae.

Fred Frith urodził się 17 lutego 1949 r. w Heathfield w Wielkiej Brytanii. Od 5 roku życia uczył się grać na skrzypcach ale w wieku 13 lat rozpoczął także naukę gry na gitarze. Jego pierwszym zespołem była szkolna grupa The Chaperones wykonująca utwory takich grup jak Shadows i The Beatles. Jednak usłyszenie muzyków bluesowych (m.in. Alexisa Kornera) całkowicie zmieniło jego nastawienie do muzyki i podejście do gry na gitarze. The Chaperones stali się zespołem bluesowym. Równocześnie interesował się także muzyką etniczną z całego świata.
W 1968 r. Frith rozpoczął studia na uniwersytecie w Cambridge, gdzie poszerzył swoje horyzonty muzyczne zapoznając się z ideami Johna Cage'a i Franka Zappy. Z zaprzyjaźnionym studentem Timem Hodgkinsonem, grającym na instrumentach klawiszowych i dętych, zakłada w 1968 r. zespół Roger Bacon, który grał w stylu 'dada blues'. W październiku 1968 r. zmieniają nazwę na Henry Cow. Zespół ten stanie się główną grupą ówczesnej awangardy bryjskiej i przetrwa do 1978 r. z dorobkiem 6 oficjalnych albumów.
W 1974 r. Frith wydaje swój pierwszy solowy album Guitar Solos zawierający 8 całkowicie improwizowanych utworów wykonywanych na specjalnie przerobionych gitarach 'na żywo', bez żadnych późniejszych ingerencji technicznych w nagrania.

W latach 90. Frith zaczął pisać muzykę taneczną, filmową i teatralną oraz kontynuował wydawanie swoich solowych albumów. Skomponował także wiele utworów dla innych wykonawców zarówno indywidualnych jak i grup muzycznych. Nie stracił kontaktu ze swoimi przyjaciółmi z Henry Cow: Chrisem Cutlerem, Timem Hodgkinsonem i Lindsay Cooper, z którymi zrealizował wiele projektów. W grudniu 2006 r. wystąpili nawet jako trio w klubie The Stone w Nowym Jorku.
Po dwuletnim pobycie we Niemczech (żona Fritha fotografik Heike Liss jest Niemką) i we Francji (wykładał kompozycję w L'Ecole Nationale de Musique w Villeurbanne) osiedlił się w 1997 r. w Kalifornii. Jest profesorem kompozycji w Mills College w Oakland w Kalifornii.
